Temporary Product Assembler

I. Summary: The Product Assembler is responsible for performing various handwork tasks to produce quality product while meeting or exceeding standard production levels.

II. Major Responsibilities / Duties

The Product Assembler will be assigned to one or more of the following tasks, as skill levels are assessed and job requirements dictate

    A. Handwork Tasks

    • Perform various handwork tasks
    • Collate
    • Fold
    • Clean product
    • Hand assembly
    • Stack materials on skids
    • Package materials for shipment

    B. Inspection

    • Determine useability of components
    • Inspect cancellations, flanges on bubbles, hickeys on product
    • Determine whether finished product meets quality standards

    C. Machinery

    • Kensol
    • Automatic wrapping system
    • L Sealer/Shrink Tunnel
    • Electric Sealing Tape Machine
    • Electronic Scales

    D. Record Keeping

    • Record time on labor reporting forms
    • Achieve standard production levels
    • Achieve standard for spoilage

    E. Organization of Work Area

    • Position and open skids
    • Stack materials on skids
    • Pack folded and/or assembled materials in boxes and stack boxes on skids
    • Keep work area clean and free of debris

III. Education and Knowledge

  • Become familiar with terminology of coinage such as "obverse" vs. "reverse"
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred but not required

IV. Skills and Abilities

  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions and Unicover's procedures

V. Working Conditions /Physical Requirements

    A. Material and Equipment Used

    • Kensol
    • L-Sealer
    • Shrink Tunnel
    • Tape Machine
    • Latex gloves
    • Automatic Wrapper

    B. Working Environment

    • Assembly Line environment/indoors
    • Machinery
    • Noise factor
    • Standing on concrete floors for extended periods or sitting for extended periods
    • Paper dust
    • Must have a tolerance for fumes associated with printing & sealing operations

    C. Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
