Charles Knotek
American 1933 - 2008

Charles Knotek was a graduate of the School of Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Illinois. He worked for over 20 years as a designer and art director at various advertising agencies in Chicago and New York before embarking on a freelance career in editorial illustration.

He specializes in aviation, military and general historical themes, and many of his paintings have appeared in the Pentagon, the Air Force Academy, the Wings Club of New York City, and in various publications.

One of Knotek's most significant accomplishments occurred in 1977 when he was selected to paint the official representation of the 1927 New York-Paris flight of Charles Lindbergh to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of that historic event. His painting, The Second Bounce, was distributed internationally.
