Kristin Rosenberg British 1933 - Hailing from Great Britain, Kristin Rosenberg is a botanical artist of
the highest order. Her masterful technique emphasizes fine detail that is so important in stamp art. In 1965, Rosenberg began a series of paintings of wild flowers of the chalkland, from
Shoreham in Kent. These paintings were exhibited at The Royal Horticultural Society's Flower Show in 1967 and won the Grenfell Bronze Medal. Since then she has won several awards for her
paintings of various botanical subjects. In 1976, Rosenberg was commissioned by the British Post Office to design postage stamps featuring roses. Her beautiful botanical illustrations have
appeared in numerous philatelic First Day Covers for American collectors. A founder member of the Society of Botanical Artists, she is also an exhibitor with the Society of Wildlife Artists. All
her paintings are created from fresh plant material and are accurately observed in the finest detail. Using watercolor or acrylic, Rosenberg seeks to capture the intrinsic beauty of her subject.
