John Harwood

Although trained as an engineer, British artist John Harwood began his professional career as a graphic designer in 1977. His excellent drawing skills have made him a sought-after designer for numerous technical publications. Harwood has become a well-known name in the field of commercial art. His dedication to authenticity and realism are manifested in his desire to strive for excellence. He taught himself airbrush technique, a medium that enhances his realistic style. Harwood explains his method for creating a design, "I take my own reference photographs and create lighting and mood at this stage. I then use these photos as a guide and redraw all areas leaving out discrepant areas and bumping up the areas of interest."
