Gene Boyer
American

Boyer's professional career as an artist was launched when he placed second in a contest sponsored by The Saturday Evening Post, an honor that evenutally led to a full-time position on the Post staff. His works for the Post now include more than thirty illustrations and covers. In 1975 Boyer received the coveted Marion de Sola Memorial Award. That same year, his career in philatelic art began with the creation of the widely acclaimed portraits of President Jimmy Carter and Vice President Walter Mondale for Fleetwood's Inaugural Series.
