Leonora Box
British 1936 -

Leonora Box was born in 1936 and studied at the Royal Academy Schools in London. Inspired by the lovely English landscape, Box concentrates most of her paintings on botanical subjects. Her illustrations have appeared in various publications, including Reader's Digest. Box uses fine detail and rich colors that work together to create stunning stamp designs.

Her lovely botanical art has appeared on many First Day Cover collections. These include beautiful flowers of Western Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands, Solomon Islands, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Antigua. Box's flower designs have also appeared on a spectacular series of First Day Covers honoring Diana, Princess of Wales. As a botanical artist, Box recreates the natural world with authentic realism and detail, capturing the simple beauty of the world's plant life.
