Julie Shearer
American 1938 -

Julie Shearer grew up amid the beauty of the South Carolina countryside. Here she learned to love the plants and tiny creatures of the woods. For many years Shearer has portrayed this natural panorama in her distinctive watercolor paintings.

Her art gives the collector a sense of the joy she has while painting. Her delightful paintings have become favorites all across America, appearing on numerous greeting cards and in many private collections. In 1980 Shearer designed two stamps for the Fijian Islands. When she visited the island paradise, Shearer was thrilled at seeing the pristine waters and huge, almost surreal flowers of Fiji. She then designed stamps that captured the engaging charm of the island people and the beauty of their paradise home.
