On October 8, 2007, the Marshall Islands Postal Service issued a series of new stamps featuring yachts registered in the Marshall Islands. The ten stamps in this issue present colorful and vibrant photographic images of the most magnificent yachts to sail under the flag of the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

The Marshall Islands Maritime Registry is highly regarded throughout the world, not only by the yachting community, but by the entire maritime industry due to its very efficient registration processes and quality service. Popular features offered to yacht owners include the ability to register a yacht for either a one-year or three-year period, completiong of the registration within 24-hours, and the eligibility to obtain a U. S. Criusing Permit.

Private and commercial yachts now comprise 15% of the total number of vessels that are currently part of the Marshall Islands fleet which is ranked as the fourth largest and fastest growing open registry in the world. In addition to yachts, the typse of vessels that may be registered under the Marshall Islands flag include tankers, cargo ships, container ships, passenger ships and tugs, among others.

The ten stamps show dramatic, full color photographs of yachts registered in the Marshall Islands.
