On March 22, 2001, the Marshall Islands Postal Service issued a set of seven stamps portraying fairy tales known to children in the Marshall Islands and around the world. Fire-breathing dragons, brave knights and beautiful princesses share the stage with elves, witches, sorcerers and unicorns in the magical world of fairy tales. Bewitching creatures come to life in these wonderful stories that begin, "Once upon a time in a land far, far away..." Frogs turn into princes, hags become lovely queens and animals speak with the tongues of seers. No matter how fantastic the setting and bewitching the characters, fairy tales almost always express an underlying moral or profound universal truth. And of course everyone "lives happily ever after." Designed by Hungarian artist Janos Kass, these whimsical stamps feature:
