Gene Jarvis: Canada/Lynx
Artist: Gene Jarvis
The North American Canada Lynx Lynx canadensis looks very much like the bobcat, particularly in its skull features. Lynx have a broad, round skull and very large paws. They are very long-legged with a prominent, short tail. They have beardlike hair around the cheeks, and their long ears have striking tufts at the tips.
This artwork was originally published on the Fleetwood® Flora & Fauna of the World First Day Cover for the Canada 43¢ Lynx stamp issued January 18, 1988.
