Fritz Wegner: Draco the Constellation The Dragon has always been prominent in myths and legends. In China it became the national emblem. Draco was called Typhon by the Egyptians; he was a terrible giant whom even the gods feared. The Greeks also have many stories relating to Draco. In the battle between the gods and the titans, Minerva, being opposed by Draco, seized him by the tail and hurled him into the sky, where he became entangled with the axis of the heavens before he could unwind his coils.
