Kristin Rosenberg: Flowers of Dominica The flowers of Dominica form this floral bouquet, while the decorative ribbons represent Dominica's national colors. The flowers of the well-known climbing plant, Morning Glory, mirror the progress of the tropical sun; they open in the morning and fade gently and close as evening approaches. As its names imly, the dramatic flowers of the Golden Showers or Candle Bush tree add sparkle to the island. Also known romantically as "Cup of Gold," the flowers of the Chalice vine can measure as much as nine inches across. The adaptable Fuchsia comes in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and grows well in hot sun or shade. The hanging varieties are probably the most attractive with their great profusion of flowers. Cannas plants have been cultivated for thousands of years. A member of the Chrysanthemum family, Shasta Daisies boast large white double flowers which measure up to six inches across.
