Kristin Rosenberg: Flowers of Grenada The flowers of Grenada form this floral bouquet, while the decorative ribbons represent Grenada's national colors. Hibiscus blossoms are large and short-lived, often lasting for no more than a day. Famous throughout the West Indies, the Hibiscus originated in China. The Nasturtium is a hardy ground-dweller that grows rapidly. The golden orange and fiery red flowers can be used to cover awkward placed in gardens. The variety of shapes and sizes, colors and leaves on the Begonia have to be seen to be believed. The distinct flowers of the Shrimp plant look as if they have just been scooped from the ocean floor; they bear a striking resemblance to their namesake. A member of the cactus family, the Mamillaria makes up for its formidable needles by producing a profusion of attractive flowers. One of the many species of fern to be found on Grenada, the Ladder fern is a favorite among gardeners.
