A sociable animal, this Badger mates for life and lives in clans. The dozen or more Eurasian Badgers in each clan usually share a large main den and several smaller outlying ones. These dens may be inhabited for centuries by the descendants of a single family, and are kept spotlessly clean. The Badger will not tolerate refuse in its home.

This painting was originally published on the Fleetwood® First Day Cover for the USSR 20+10rbl Eurasian Badger stamp issued March 20, 1989.
