Pierre Forget: The Whitbread 60 Sailboat For the sailors embarked on the boat "La Poste," they were participating in one of the most prestigious sailing races in the world, the Whitbread. The Postal Service could not have chosen better amabassadors: the eight postal workers who made up the crew were, like the great navigators of history, explorers of a new world. The Whitbread, reserved for monocoque sailboats, takes place very four years. For the Whitbread 1989-1990, the competitors had to travel more than 50,000 kilmometers via the South Atlantic in six stages.
